Minister of Tourism, Kenya, Hon. Najib Balala has expressed his appreciation to the African Tourism Board for honouring him with a Continental Tourism Awards 2021.

Hon. Balala also went to his social media handle to express his appreciation with a picture showing him receiving the award plaque from his representative at the awards ceremony in Arusha, Tanzania, where some other ministers of tourism in Africa were also awarded .

“I am honoured to receive the African Tourism Board’s Continental Awards 2021,in recognition for my commitment and contribution to develop and promote Kenya’s tourism”, Balala wrote.

Responding to Balala’s statement, the Executive Chairman of African Tourism Board in an official statement also seized the opportunity to emphasis the import of such a prestigious awards which was an attempt to recognize those individuals excelling in their personal lives and also driving the tourism sector in their various countries.

“It is indeed an exciting opportunity to honour those who have worked tirelessly in their portfolios in driving for a positive change that will better our nations and those who live in it.
It is from this backdrop that ATB has identified tireless Ministers who have shaped the destiny of our tourism sector.

Honourable Minister Balala has been at the forefront in keeping the tourism economies not only surviving  during the difficult times the world has experienced but has shaped and turned the Republic of Kenya to be the grand stand of the regional block and tourism capital.

His vast experience that has been channeled in uniting the EAC in driving the most coordinated tourism drive that has brought EAC under one African sky by showcasing and promoting tourism investment in the EAC Tourism Expo Arusha 2021 which  has earned him this prestigious Continental Tourism Award.

ATB will foster and nurture the relationship between the organization and the leadership of the Republic of Kenya in driving tourism investment and in creating a sustainable tourism drives that will incorporate community based tourism benefits to our communities who are custodians of our heritages”, Ncube noted. 

At the East African Regional Tourism Expo 2021 in Arusha, that was where the most prominent tourism organisation in Africa, ATB  presented the awards to the admiration of all during the opening ceremony. 

Receiving the awards were tourism cynosures like Hon. Najib Balala, Minister of Tourism – Kenya, Hon.Madam Philda Nani Kereng, Minister of Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and TourismĀ  -Bostwana, Hon. Dr. Damas Ndumbaro, Minister of Natural Resource and Tourism – Tanzania, Hon. Moses Vilakati, Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs – Kingdom of Eswatini and Hon. Madam Memunatu Pratt, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs -Sierra Leone.

Other prominent recipients of the coveted ATB Continental Tourism Awards included His Eminence, Dr. Taleb Rufai, Former Secretary General, United Nations World Tourism Organisation and Her Excellency, Madam Samia Saluhu Hassan, the President, United Republic of Tanzania.

African Tourism Board is an outstanding tourism organization with a very strong vision  of promoting, marketing and changing the entire narrative spectrum of African tourism to a positive and enviable one.

ATB has its headquarters in the Kingdom of Eswatini with worthy Ambassadors in many African countries and across the world.
