The Executive Chairman of Afrcan Tourism Board, Mr. Cuthbert Ncube has requested supports to the bid by Kenya to host the forthcoming General Assembly of United Nations World Tourism Organisation UNWTO in Kenya after Morrocco pulled out due to Covid-19 prevalent in the country.
ATB is throwing all its weight behind Kenya, offering to host the General Assembly andvwe are requesting your supports as well. This is important for us as Africans, it strategic as well to garner all supports for Kenya and our Hon. Minister Najib Balala, the Minister of Tourism, who has been very outstanding in tourism space not only in Kenya but in Africa.
You will recall that recently ATB awarded Hon. Najib Balala, alongside other pro-active ministers of tourism in Africa. This testifies to our claims that Hon. Balala has been very active in tourism development in Africa.
We therefore call on all leadership in Africa’s tourism space to also rally behind Kenya and to ascertain and achieve this noble objective.
This is time for Africa and we must give all our concerted efforts at ensuring what belongs to Africa stays in Africa, Ncube appealled.
Also lending his voice, the President of African Tourism Board Hon. Alain ST. Ange, Presidential candidate at the Seychelles last election and former Minister of Tourism was passionate about Kenya hosting the UNWTO ‘s General Assembly.
I therefore call our fellow continental great minds to give their supports to Kenya, St. Ange also appealled.
The General Assembly had earlier been slated to take place in Morrocco but due to Covid-19 pandemic that’s taking a toll on the country, it has decided to cancel and Kenya quickly opted in again having done same in Russia at the last GA.
Philippines is also in the race, but has not yet signify interest. What is therefore important is for Kenya to host and the country needs our unflinching collective supports.
