In an attempt to fulfil his promises to Orile Agege Youths and the residents of the Council Area,the Council Mayor ,Hon. Johnson Sunday Babatunde and members of his cabinet took an unprecedented step of empowering Orile Agege Youths with twenty (20)Mini Buses (Korope).The  Council’s decision to empower these lucky beneficiaries is borne out of the need to engage as well as to provide them with daily means of livelihood.On youth engagement,Hon.Babatunde also provided start-up grant to the tune of two million naira (#2.000 000) for Agro-Entrepreneurial projects. Other Orile Agege residents that benefitted from the Executive Chairman’s generosity are the aged and widows of which seventy of them went home with a whooping sum of Hundred thousand(#100,000)each while a 100 of  Widows went home with sizeable food items like rice, garri amongst others.

 In his address, Hon.Babatunde emphasized on the need to establish laudable programmes to engage the Youths to forestall a revolution,to combat idleness induced crime as well as to make them responsible individuals.
The Council Mayor also recounted his achievements in the last three and a half years of his Administration.The Executive Chairman  however enjoined all Stakeholders to see to the protection of Infrastructures and Amenities provided within the Council Area for their own benefits and posterity.
In the two in one programme,requests and contributions was taken from Stakesholders from the 6 Wards and 54 CDAs of the Council Area in preparation for the Year 2021 proposed Budget.”Inputs of Stakesholders is compulsory in order to make adequate provision for them in the year under review”Hon.Babatunde said The Council Mayors’ Administration has however embarked on more than 10 new laudable projects to be commissioned before the end of his tenure in 2021.

Present at the occasion were the Council Mayor,Hon.Johnson Babtunde,Vice Chairman, Hon.Khafilat Akanni Pedro, Leader of the House, Hon.Wale Fayemi, and other Legislative Members,Members of the Executive Committee, Royal Fathers ,APC Chieftains and Members,HOD Budget, Mr Adeniyi Adeleke, HOD WAPA, Mrs Biola Oshisanya, other Management Members, CDC/CDA Representatives, Religious Leaders,Market Women,Youth and Women Councils,Artisans,Farmers,Orile Agege Media Crew headed by the HOU,Public Affairs,Mrs Maryam Hamzat, Gentlemen of the Press among others.

It may be of interest to know that Hon. Johnson Babatunde recently received African Community Lifetime Achievement Award from Grassroots African Awards and Conference International, Lagos 2020 for his pivotal role at uplifting  his community which has earned him a global recognition.

    He is real a significant to others.
    We don’t always wait European to do on our behalf,, we are able, we are endowed with good hearts with sense of humanity and giving,,let us become more like Babatunde,, for sure Africa will go where deserves.
