The Chairman, African Tourism Board, ATB, Cuthbert Ncube has expressed the organisation’s condolences to the government and people of Tanzania on the passing of President John Magufuli last night in Dar es Salam.

In his words, “It is with deepest sympathy Colleague’s to learn of the passing away of the President of Tanzania. He was one of the Champions in accelerating the AU agenda on Africa’s independence and self actualization from colonial rule”

Curtbert further described Magufuli as one of the upright and astute leaders on the continent judging by his positive administrative antecedents. “One of the bravest Leaders who stood for what he believes in, his passing is a blow to continental economic progress as we have noted Tanzania’s economy growing by 4% while the continental economies shrinked by more than 20%.” He said

He however pointed out how Tanzania has been collaborating with ATB on the agenda of ensuring destination Africa becomes a choice destination for tourists all over the world. “ATB has collaborated and working with the Minister of Tourism in rebranding Africa as the Tourists’ destination of choice to all citizens of our global Communities”.

Also commiserating with the people of Tanzania, St. Alain ANGE , a Presidential candidate in Seychelles and ATB Board member, expressed his condolences at the passing of President Magufuli. “My sympathy to the People of Tanzania and to our Continent as a whole on the news about the sudden passing of the President of Tanzania”

Hon. Moses Vilakati, Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Kingdom of Eswatini also joined tourism dignitaries to express his sympathy describing President Magufuli as a fallen giant. “Our condolences to the family, the nation and the continent. May he rest in eternal peace. A giant has fallen.”

Dr. Shem Maingi, a tourism expert from Kenya also gave her condolences with comforting words to neighbouring Tanzania. “My sincere condolences to our brothers and sisters in our neighbouring Tanzania. May God grant them the strength and grace in this most difficult moment.”

Also commisserating with Africa, ATB Ambassador in Israel, Dov Kalmann has this to say “Please accept as Brand Ambassador of ATB in Israel also the deepest condolences from the people of Israel. The warm relationship and stabile tourism between the countries will certainly be maintained”.

Other members of ATB have been expressing their condolences at the passing of President John Magufuli and we at Kalo Africa Media do express our condolences to the people and government of Tanzania praying for God’s comfort on Tanzania and the continent at large.
