The duo of Hon. Alain St. Ange and Mr. Cuthbert Ncube both President and Executive Chairman respectively of African Tourism Board have sent their congratulatory messages on behalf of the organization to the newly appointed Minister of Tourism in South Africa, Hon. Lindiwe Nonceba Sisulu, promising to work with her on the urgent need to recover tourism sector post covid-19 pandemic and take Africa’s tourism trajectory to an enviable level.

“It is with great honour and excitement, as we welcome and congratulate Hon. Minister Lindiwe Nonceba Sisulu as the Minister of Tourism in South Africa. Her broad and seasonal experience will surely drive the recovery initiatives not only for South Africa but for the continent at large, as South Africa stands as a connectivity hub of Africa”,Cuthbert Ncube expressed.

“At African Tourism Board we are looking at collaborating and working closely with the Ministry in facilitating trade and investment into African tourism by rebranding,reshaping the narrative and promoting eco-tourism as well as enhancing sustainable growth, value and quality of travel within the continent. Tourism is one of the most promising economic sectors in Africa. It has the potential to not only drive economic growth on the continent, but to catalyse inclusive economic development thereby calling for closer collaboration within member States and all sector practitioners to foster a resilient travel and tourism sector”, Ncube added.

Speaking in the same vein, Alain St. Ange expressed ATB’s
willingness to work with Hon. Sisulu as well as other tourism ministers saying Africa needed togetherness.

“As ATB let us welcome the new Minister of Tourism in South Africa. Tourism needs a togetherness approach and as the tourism board for Africa, we welcome Minister Lindiwe Nonceba Sisulu and assure her of our determination to work with her and every other Tourism Minister of our great continent to bring a well planned post Covid approach for Africa”.
