The African Tourism Board Chairman, Mr. Cuthbert Ncube and his team – Amb. Hiwotie Anberbir and Amb. Kazeem Balogun paid a courtesy call on the Cultural department of the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa yesterday.
Receiving the team, Mrs.Vicensia Shule, Senior Culture Officer of the department of African Union expressed her pleasure at the courtesy visit where she explained to the team current situation about the constitution of new structures within the A. U which has started working except for the Covid-19 pandemic slowing down businesses globally.
Establishing his discussion Mr. Cuthbert Ncube also informed her of the activities of ATB for the past three years where he emphasised on the achievement recorded in Arusha recently, recognising African tourism leaders by giving “Tourism Continental Awards 2021” to deserving Ministers and President of Tanzania, Madam Samia Saluhu Hassan.
Mr. Ncube requested for Africa Union’s collaboration in terms of cultural and activities through which the two organizations would create a synergy by entrenching a cultural affinity among the people of the continent.
“At African Tourism Board, we are looking forwad to synergise and find a way to take AU’s cultural agenda to the nooks and crannies of the continent with our collaboration as we incorporate our 2022 calendar activities geared towards engaging our people culturally. Ncube noted.
Mrs. Shule on the other hand also emphasised the importance of letting the people aware of the fact that African Union does more work beyond peace keeping which so many people are aware of, but also partners and plays pivotal roles in culture, tourism, arts, technology etc.
An understanding was reached on a more future collaborations between the two organizations with so much to do in cultural space.
