The Chairman of African Tourism Board, Curthbert Ncube has applauded the International Tourism and Investment Conference ITIC to host its first face-to-face event at the ongoing Arabian Travel Market ATM and described it as ”a partnership of progress” .
He said this as the first part of Middle East Tourism Investment Summit, a two-fold event being organised by ITIC in partnership with ATM takes place today. The in-person summit will be held in Dubai on the Wednesday 19th May and will be followed by a virtual summit on the 27 May. The theme will be ‘Invest-Rebuild-Restart the tourism industry in the Middle East’.
He was of the view that partnership of the magnitude is what the world needs at this point in time in order to bring about the much desired recovery of tourism globally.

The fact remains that the Middle East stands out as the region offering the most exciting tourism prospects following the Covid-19 vaccination campaigns that have been successfully rolled out, there is no doubt about the fast- track process of recovering tourism within the region as well as in African region.
On his part, Taleb Rifai Chairman of ITIC and former Secretary-General of UNWTO also expressed his own delight at the partnership.

Also, Ibrahim Ayoub, ITIC’s Group CEO, expressed his confidence that the vaccination campaigns will contribute to the rapid restart of international flights.
“Dubai has already set the example of the successful reopening of its airspace and country to foreign visitors. We expect that other countries especially in the Middle East which have properly managed the Covid-19 pandemic, to follow”, he added. “Their resilience needs to be commended.”
