President Wavel Ramkalawan of Seychelles has received Mr. Alain St. Ange, the former Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine who was on a courtesy visit to the State House yesterday.

The visit which was at the invitation of the President centred around the work St. Ange has been engaged in for the past seven weeks and also an opportunity to discuss how Seychelles, a similar tropical island nation can garner new ideas and expertise from Indonesia.

President Ramkalawan congratulated St. Ange on his achievement of being featured in a coffee table publication – Global Icons of Travel & Tourism launched by the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, St. Ange thanked the President for receiving him at State House and expressed how delighted and honoured he was to impart his knowledge and experience for the benefit of tourism industry of his homeland and the entire reception by the President.

St. Ange who is also the President of African Tourism Board returned to Seychelles to a rousing welcoming following his recent trip as a tourism consultant to Jakarta, Indonesia to promote African tourism agenda in line with ATB’s aims and objectives.


Upon his return to Seychelles, St. Ange has also held discussions with the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Mr. Sylvestre Radegonde and other tourism stakeholders in African.
