In the final stage of the Zanzibar Wedding Festival 2021,ATB Chairman, Mr. Cuthbert Ncube has joined the Hon. Minister of Tourism in Zanzibar Lela Mohamed Mussa and the other top government officials, diplomats and other private citizens at Park Hyde Hotel, Stone City, Zanzibar to Celebrate another milestone in Africa’s and Cultural progression- Cultural Wedding Festival 2021, which included recognition of the best Wedding Festival dress among others.


Addressing the gathering, the Minister prided Zanzibar for its multi- cultural fussion that binds the citizens together in their diversity and dedication which is the brand and a marketing strategy for Zanzibar as a premium wedding destination aside being one of the choicest touristic enclave in the region.


She applauded ATB’s participation and involvement in reshaping the African Tourism narratives and the pleaded with Africans to start looking within the continent for solutions to their challenges rather than elsewhere which she hoped would bring about self actualization.

On his part Mr. Ncube expressed his profound appreciation to the Hon. Minister for promoting tourism in Zanzibar which has become the envy of all within and outside. He also expressed his annoyance at Canada’s decision not to recognise PCR tests from Africa. “Let me reiterate my disgust on Canadian government at undermining and once again showing a primitive and wayward approach by disregarding the efforts of member States at curbing the spread of the pandemic on their announcement that they will not recognize and accept covid test certificates from some African countries, this once again reflects the inequalities and the most barbaric act as the world is looking at mechanism of working together in activating and promoting the tourism sector that has seen its worst performance in the recent times.

The event was well attended by prominent dignitaries within Zanzibar and beyond which signalled a successful 2nd edition.

The organisers hoped the activation of Zanzibar Wedding Festival as another product would attract global wedding market to the spice Island in the nearest future.
