Libreville–
As part of his participation in the signing ceremony for the acquisition agreements of SMP Afrique and Tullow Oil Gabon by GOC, the President of the Transition, President of the Republic, and Head of State of Gabon, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, presided over the handover of 399 vehicles to young citizens at Camp Capitaine Charles Ntchoréré in Baraka, Gabon.
This was made available in press release yesterday by the presidency in Libreville. Launched on October 9, 2024, this project has expanded from 417 to 816 vehicles, with an additional 399 taxis distributed today, including 75 allocated to the city of Port-Gentil.
This initiative aims to promote entrepreneurship, encourage professional integration, and strengthen the participation of young Gabonese in the urban transport sector. It will be extended to the hinterland, particularly provincial capitals, to meet the high demand for transport in various localities.
Additionally, two new garages will be opened—one in Franceville and another in Oyem—to ensure vehicle maintenance in compliance with Taxi Gab+ technical standards.
At the end of the ceremony, the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Head of State for this initiative and reaffirmed their commitment to making good use of their new vehicles.
