Angola took a major step toward positioning itself as a prime destination for global tourism investment during a high-level Global Tourism Forum- Angola Leaders Dinner held on the sidelines of ITB Berlin 2026 in Berlin, Germany.
The prestigious gathering brought together ministers, ambassadors, international investors, and industry leaders to highlight Angola’s tourism investment vision and strengthen global partnerships that will accelerate the development of the country’s tourism sector.

A major highlight of the event was the official presentation of the UN Tourism Investment Guidelines titled “Tourism Doing Business: Investing in Angola.” The document was formally handed over by Shaikha Al Nuwais, Secretary-General of UN Tourism, to Márcio de Jesus Lopes Daniel, Angola’s Minister of Tourism.
The guidelines outline key investment opportunities across several strategic segments of the tourism industry, including ecotourism, nature tourism, hotel and resort development, coastal tourism, and cultural heritage tourism. The framework aims to provide international investors with clear insights into Angola’s tourism landscape while encouraging sustainable and structured development.
Another important moment of the evening was the signing of strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the Government of Angola and leading international investment partners. The agreements were signed with Onur Group from Türkiye, Mouza Al Maktoum Investment Group from the United Arab Emirates, and Dome Group Global Holding.
These partnerships signal growing global confidence in Angola’s emerging tourism economy and its ambition to become a key destination for international tourism investment in Africa.
Building on the momentum generated in Berlin, Angola will host the Global Tourism Forum – Investment Summit Angola 2026, scheduled to take place in Luanda from 7–9 May 2026. The summit is expected to further deepen investment dialogue and showcase the country’s tourism opportunities to global stakeholders.
With increasing international attention and strong institutional backing, Angola continues to position tourism as a strategic pillar for economic diversification, regional cooperation, and sustainable growth.
