Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received the credentials of the newly appointed ambassadors of Mali and Nigeria during an official ceremony at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, marking a new chapter in diplomatic representation between Türkiye and the two West African nations.
Mali’s Ambassador Oumarou Maiga and Nigeria’s Ambassador Saidu Usman Nasamu Dakingari were among five newly appointed ambassadors who presented their letters of credence to the Turkish president.
According to the Turkish Presidency, Erdoğan subsequently held separate meetings with the ambassadors, including the representatives of Mali and Nigeria.
The presidency did not disclose details of the discussions or announce any new bilateral agreements.
The appointments come as Türkiye continues its diplomatic engagement with African countries, including Mali and Nigeria, across political and economic fields.
The arrival of the two ambassadors provides an opportunity for further dialogue on bilateral priorities and future cooperation between Ankara and the two West African capitals.
