Replacing CNN, BBC,Ethiopia Launches POA for Africa’s Authentic Narratives

Date:

ADDIS ABABA-
Ethiopia has unveiled Pulse of Africa (POA), a groundbreaking pan-African digital media platform headquartered in Addis Ababa, poised at serving as the authentic mediq platfoem for Africa’s narratives, replacing foreign media platforms like CNN, BBC and the likes, marking a significant step toward reshaping how Africa tells its own story to the world.

The creation of POA stems from Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed’s visionary call during the 2022 African Union Summit, where he urged the establishment of an authentic African media outlet—one capable of reflecting the continent’s realities through its own lens rather than through external interpretations.

Pulse of Africa is designed to be a powerful platform for African voices—celebrating innovation, culture, and progress, while also confronting the challenges facing the continent with honesty and context. It seeks to counteract the often one-sided narratives portrayed by Western media and to champion Africa’s resilience, creativity, and potential on the global stage.

Through multimedia storytelling, digital engagement, and continental partnerships, POA aims to connect Africans across borders and amplify stories that inspire pride and unity. Its vision is not just to report Africa’s stories—but to redefine how the world listens to Africa.

With Addis Ababa, the diplomatic capital of Africa, as its home base, Pulse of Africa represents a new era in continental communication—one where Africa speaks, and the world listens.
