In a significant diplomatic engagement highlighting Nigeria’s leadership in African tourism and investment cooperation, the Africa Diplomatic Tourism and Investment Forum (ADTIF 2025) delegation recently met with officials of the Nigerian High Commission in Mozambique. This courtesy visit was part of the Forum’s ongoing diplomatic outreach and stakeholder engagement ahead of its much-anticipated event slated for 20–22 August 2025.
Scheduled to take place at the prestigious Joaquim Chissano International Conference Centre in Maputo, Mozambique, ADTIF 2025 will convene under the theme: “Unlocking Africa’s Tourism Potential through Diplomacy and Investment.”
The courtesy meeting served to update the Nigerian High Commission on the Forum’s strategic direction and objectives, reinforcing Nigeria’s critical role in intra-African collaboration. ADTIF 2025 is being organised in partnership with the Government of Mozambique and powered by leading pan-African institutions including the African Tourism Board (ATB), African Union Sixth Region Global (AU6RG), Economic Community Africa Sixth Region (ECASR), and the African Travel Commission (ATC).
The organisers highlighted Nigeria’s central role in shaping the future of Africa’s tourism and investment landscape. Nigerians currently lead both the African Travel Commission (ATC) and African Union Sixth Region Global (AU6RG)—further emphasizing the country’s influence. Additionally, major Nigerian tourism and business stakeholders such as the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), Wakanow, the Pyne Awards, and Kalo Africa Media are actively involved in the Forum’s development and programming.
The delegation welcomed the High Commission’s constructive contributions and reiterated the commitment of ADTIF 2025 to inclusivity, impact, and authentic African representation. The engagement also underscored Nigeria’s longstanding commitment to advancing tourism, trade, and diplomatic ties within the continent.
