Developed by Batswana engineers from the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST), BOTSAT-1 showcases the country’s growing expertise in aerospace engineering and space technology, paving the way for a robust national space program.

Beyond the satellite launch, President Boko will conduct high-profile visits to the SpaceX Rocket Production and Starlink Mini Production facilities, reinforcing Botswana’s commitment to technological collaboration. He will also engage in high-level bilateral meetings, trade discussions, and investment forums, aimed at attracting foreign direct investment, expanding market opportunities for Botswana’s products, and promoting the country as a premier global tourism destination.

Accompanying President Boko on this landmark mission are:

  • Hon. Mr. Prince Maele – Minister of Higher Education
  • Professor Otlogetswe Totolo – Vice Chancellor of BIUST
